Each AP class is in a different spot of our American Lit immersion:
First hour has worked with Native American myth, heard the powerful sermons of Jonathan Edwards, and read of Anne Bradstreet's observations upon the burning of her house.
Third hour has done the above with the addition of Anne Bradstreet's devotion to her husband.
Seventh hour has completed the above and found out more about the Salem Witch Trials, Communism, and Arthur Miller, our author of The Crucible.
If you were absent for any of the hours, you will need to read up on Grandmother Spider: http://www.ilhawaii.net/~stony/lore120.html; Jonathan Edwards: http://www.classzone.com/books/am_05_shared/pdf/psource/TAS03_3_83_PS.pdf; and Anne Bradstreet: https://www.poetryfoundation.org/poems-and-poets/poems/detail/43707 and https://www.poets.org/poetsorg/poem/my-dear-and-loving-husband.
There will be a brief quiz over these texts tomorrow, and all will be expected to recollect the main themes, plots, and ideas in these texts. We have 3 days left, which means 3 days of participation that may benefit or negate your overall grade.
If you were absent seventh hour, the above holds true. There is also a power point on background of the Crucible, which is needed information. E-mail prior to class, and I will send it to you for study.
